VIDEOS: Bombings, including a suicide attack killed more than 45 people in Syria Today
A suicide attack, bombings in the city and around several Syrian cities killed at least 47 people, mainly in government control areas, according to reports from Syria SANA news agency.
ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack in many Syrian Cities. ISIS says that they were responsible for the attack that have killed 47 people on Monday, 5th of September.
Areas that were bombed today are government areas and areas controlled by president Bashar Assad's forces. These areas have experienced several bombings and other attacks during Syria's five-year civil war.
One of Monday's attacks took place in the heavily guarded suburb of Sabbourah, marking a major security breach. SANA news agency said that the attack killed one person, while the opposition-run Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said three people were killed.
"It's an area that houses officers and their families. Even before the revolution it was carefully guarded." said opposition media activist Yousef al-Boustani.
A survivor at the al-Bassel Hospital told state TV the blasts occurred near a checkpoint on the highway says that "My car caught fire and army soldiers pulled us out of the car.
