Pope Francis bought food from farmers and gave to displaced people affected by earthquake

A representative of Pope Francis, Monsignor Konrad Krajewski, went shopping for homeless people affected by earthquake in Central Italy. He purchased local produce from farmers whose businesses were struggling as a result of the quake and donated them to soup kitchens in Rome.

Monsignor Krajewski, who is the Pope's chief alms-giver visited small-scale farmers and producers in the hard-hit towns of Ascoli Piceno and Camerino, to make the purchase.

Thousands of residents in Central Italy have been displaced and the economy has been affected greatly due to the earthquakes, prompting the Vatican to take actions to provide relief.
