Edo state PDP govenorship candidate Ize-Iyamu rejects election result, accuses INEC of manipulating results

PDP candidate in the Edo state governorship election, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has rejected the result of the state governorship election which held yesterday September 28th. Speaking with newsmen at his residence as INEC reeled out the results from the various polling units, Ize-Iyamu accused INEC of manipulating the results;

“The Figures being announced by INEC do not represent the massive turnout. We have told our agents to bring all the results issued at the polling units. We do not want to rely on the messages they sent. In the next three or four days, will have complete record. From findings, it is clear a lot of manipulation has taken place.”he said

Video: French Montana taunts NYPD during pull over --- "Black Lives Matter"

French Montana got pulled over outside a strip club, and seemed to have Desiigner's recent arrest in mind  as he joked about his fellow passengers holding anything illegal.

French and a bunch of friends were being driven in an SUV leaving Aces in Queens early Wednesday  when they got stopped. While recording video, he threw a few verbal jabs at the officers.
He referred to them as "hip-hop cops" (the alleged NYPD unit dedicated to tracking rappers)  and repeatedly yelled, "Black lives matter."

Watch the video though French wanted to make sure no one else in the ride had "some s*** I need to know about."
You'll recall, Desiigner was initially arrested for gun and drug possession. The drugs turned out to be steroids, which did not belong to Desiigner or his crew, and most of the charges against him have been dropped.

Photos/Video: Malaysian Airline MH17 was shot down by Russian-made missile fired from rebel held area, supported by Russia - According to investigation

A man whose cousin was killed in the downing of Malaysia Airlines MH17 in 2014 said international prosecutors had determined that the missile that downed the airliner was launched from territory held by pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine. Robby Oehlers, whose niece Daisy was killed in the crash, told Reuters that investigators had identified 100 suspects in their investigation.

Family members were informed of the investigations' findings ahead of the media. Meanwhile, AP reported that a relative of another victim said he and other family members have been told that a Dutch-led investigation has found proof that a mobile BUK missile launcher had been moved into eastern Ukraine from Russia at the time. Hans de Borst, whose 17-year-old daughter perished in the shootdown, said he and other family members were briefed privately before a news conference scheduled to announce the preliminary results of a Dutch-led investigation into the causes of the disaster.

He says the investigators said they had proof, including communications intercepts and radar data, that a mobile BUK missile launcher had been moved into eastern Ukraine from Russia. He says investigators said the launcher was moved back into Russia after the Boeing 777 was downed. The conclusions were billed as results of a two-year Dutch-led criminal probe of the disaster that claimed 298 lives.

Thomas Schansman, father of the only U.S. citizen killed in the July 2014 disaster, said earlier that he expected investigators to identify which specific weapon they believe destroyed flight MH17, and where it was fired from. He said family members do not expect investigators at this stage to name the people they believe were responsible.

Other families were informed of the prosecutors' findings shortly before a news conference was due to start in the central Dutch city of Nieuwegein on the outcome of the investigation.

A surface-to-air missile hit Malaysia Airlines Flight 17 on its way from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur on July 17, 2014, killing all 298 people aboard, most of them Dutch citizens.

Robby Oehlers, the cousin of 20-year-old victim Daisy Oehlers, said investigators had also identified 100 potential suspects in the plane's downing.

Families were also told that the Buk missile system that was used to shoot down the plane had been transported from Russia into Ukraine, and was returned to Russia immediately afterward.

The Kremlin said before the family members spoke that radar data showed the plane was not brought down by a rocket fired from territory held by pro-Russian separatists in eastern Ukraine.

"First-hand radar data identified all flying objects which could have been launched or in the air over the territory controlled by rebels at that moment," Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in Moscow.

"The data are clear-cut,there is no rocket. If there was a rocket, it could only have been fired from elsewhere."

At the time of the incident, pro-Russian separatists were fighting Ukrainian government forces in the region. The Boeing 777 broke apart in midair, flinging wreckage over several kilometers (miles) of fields in rebel-held territory.

The prosecutors from the Netherlands, Australia, Belgium, Malaysia and Ukraine have said they will release details of the firing location and type of BUK missile used in the attack, taking them a step closer to identifying individual culprits.

Prosecutors cannot file charges because there is no international agreement on what court a case would be heard in.

Silene Fredriksz, whose 23-year-old son Bryce was on the airplane with his girlfriend, Daisy Oehlers expects the investigators to say the missile was fired from the rebel-held town of Snizhne.

"We will be able to deduce whether it was Russian or Ukrainian. And I think we will just get a confirmation of what we have thought for months: that is was the prior," Fredriksz said before meeting investigators.

"This is an important step. As a family we are impatient. We want to know what happened, how it happened and why. We want those responsible to face justice," she said.

If the investigation confirms that theory, which is supported by photographic evidence and witness statements collected by Reuters, it will directly challenging Moscow's suggestion that the plane was brought down by the Ukrainian military.

At the time, the nearest Ukrainian-held area was about 6 km (3.7 miles) away.

Ukrainian and Western officials, citing intelligence intercepts, have blamed pro-Russian rebels for the incident. Russia has always denied direct involvement in the Ukraine conflict and rejects responsibility for the destruction of MH17.

A civilian investigation into the cause of the incident by the Dutch Safety Board concluded last year that the airliner had been downed by a Russian-made BUK missile launched from eastern Ukraine.

Dutch prosecutor Fred Westerbeke, head of the investigative team, said earlier it had a "long list of persons of interest" in the case and had been analyzing airplane debris and ballistics found at the scene.

Prosecutors could also indicate what charges they are considering bringing - for instance criminal negligence.

Prosecutors have sought legal assistance from Moscow since October 2014, and visited in person for a week in July.

"Russian authorities have offered information in the past, but have not answered all questions," they said in a statement at the time.

Court to rule on Patience Jonathan’s seized $15.5m October 7th

Justice Babs Kuewumi of the Federal High Court in Lagos will on October 7th deliver judgement on the case of the seized $15.5 million found in four company accounts that have been linked to former First lady Patience Jonathan.

The Nation reports that at the resumed hearing of the case yesterday September 27th, counsel to former Special Adviser on Domestic Affairs to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Waripamo Dudafa, who is also a defendant in the case,  urged the Federal High Court to nullify the guilty plea by four companies that have been linked to the case. The four companies in whose accounts the seized $15 million was found in, had on September 15th pleaded guilty to laundering the said amount when they were arraigned.

The companies namely Pluto Property and Investment Company Ltd (represented by Friday Davis), Seagate Property Development and Investment Company Ltd (represented by Agbor Baro), Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Ltd (represented by Dioghowori Frederick) and Avalon Global Property Development Ltd (represented by Taiwo Ebenezer) pleaded guilty to laundering the money that have Mrs Jonathan had come out to claim ownership of. The companies, along with a lawyer Amajuoyi Briggs and a banker, Adedamola Bolodeoku, were arraigned before Justice Babs Kuewumi.

Dudafa, Briggs and Bolodeoku, however, pleaded not guilty to a 17-count charge brought against them by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
Yesterday, Dudafa and Briggs, through their lawyers, urged the court to set aside the guilty plea entered on the firm’ behalf by their representatives. They urged the court to replace the guilty plea with a “not-guilty” plea for the companies. They also contended that the court lacked jurisdiction to accept the companies’ guilty plea. Dudafa and his co-accused argued that those who pleaded guilty for the companies did not exhibit any letter authorising them to do so by the firms’ board. They argued that the prosecution failed to comply with Section 477(3) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015 which specifies that such a representative must have authorisation. According to Dudafa’s lawyer, Gbenga Oyewole, the four representatives had earlier made statements to both the EFCC and the court denying any connection with the companies and alleging that their names and signatures were forged. He argued that Mrs Jonathan had sued EFCC claiming ownership of the funds in the companies’ accounts, adding that neither the Federal Government not any state had stated that the funds were stolen from them. According to him, the same representatives had earlier denied any link to the companies when they were first charged before Justice Abdulazeez Anka, who sat during the vacation. He said Justice Anka replaced their guilty plea with “not guilty” after their denial.
“The purported representatives did not produce a statement of appointment by the companies,” Oyewole argued.
Objecting to his argument, counsel to EFCC, Rotimi Oyedepo, said there was evidence at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) that Davies, Baro, Fredrick and Ebenezer were the companies’ directors. Oyedepo said the four also had the mandate to operate the Skye Bank accounts where the $15.5million is. He added that the companies representatives were of sound mind and made a deliberate decision to plead guilty.
“The prima facie evidence before Your Lordship is that those who appeared before Your Lordship are the directors of the fourth to seventh defendants (the companies).
EFCC said the accused persons conspired on November 13, 2013 in Lagos to launder $15,591,700. It said the defendants “reasonably ought to have known that the funds form part of the proceeds of an unlawful act”.
Seagate Property, Dudafa, Bolodeoku and Sompre Omiebi (said to be at large) were accused of indirectly retaining $1,094,500 through a Skye Bank Plc account (2110002207) between November 14 and 19, 2013. EFCC said the money “forms part of an unlawful act to wit: stealing.”
They were also accused of indirectly retaining $1,200,000 through the Skye Bank account between January 21 and December 19, 2014; as well as $1,349,700 through the same account between March 31 and May 20, 2015, among others.
