The rapper is under psychiatric evaluation at UCLA Medical Center following a string of odd behavior and mid-concert rants recently. According to TMZ, West was being examined for severe sleep deprivation before paramedics were called around 4:20 p.m. Monday afternoon.
TMZ sources say West was hospitalized "for his own health and safety."West cancelled the remainder of his "Saint Pablo Tour" following a recent string of bizarre rants and antics at recent shows where he talked about Donald Trump, Jay Z and Beyonce. He had 21 concerts remaining on the North American leg of his sprawling tour, which he extended a few weeks ago beyond its original Nov. 2 end date.
"Tickets will be fully refunded at point of purchase," A rep announced.Exhaustion played a major role in West's decision to cancel the remainder of his gigs, a source told TMZ. Another source said Kanye goes up to 48 hours sometimes, without sleeping.
"He's just exhausted," the insider said. "He's been working around the clock on fashion design, both his own line and the Adidas line."
The source added that the harrowing robbery of West's wife Kim Kardashian in Paris last month also took its toll on the rapper."All the time spent away from his family has been a stress on him as well". "They are most important to him."
