These old men can never try it in Nigeria, because something will remove them from that highest post or position by fire by force. Even during the military regime, the only military head of States or military president who tried to rule more than 8 years is Baba Yakubu Gowon.
Gowon ruled between 1966 to 75.. He was removed from the post while attending an African Union summit somewhere in Africa lool. And he immediately fled to the United Kingdom after a coup planned by his boys that eventually removed him from Lagos barrack.
His boys like Muritala, Obasanjo , Nanven Garba and others removed Gowon from Lagos Barack lool.
And another strong General who tried to rule for 8 years is Babangida.. But this time, Babangida situation wasn't about coup, it was about some internal threat which led to 1993 democratic election through out the nation. But Babangida later fucked and messed up by not honouring the outcome of that democratic election results.
But he would rather handover the government to another military dickhead, crazy , no nonsense General Sanni Abacha "may his soul rest in peace" And General Sanni Abacha who also planned to be a life president and who also jailed many people was removed from earth by a sweet apple after five years in Aso Rock, Abuja. And we eventually returned to democratic system of government in 1999.
