Video:Taylor Swift top the World's Highest-Paid Female Musician Again

Taylor Swift, 26, continues her reign of world domination as this year's highest-paid woman in music, according to Forbes. In its annual ranking, Swift's earnings between June of 2015 and 2016 are estimated at $170 million thanks to a record-breaking North American tour (all told, Swift is said to have pulled in more than a quarter of a billion dollars over the course of her global 1989 trek) and endorsement deals with mega-brands like Keds, Diet Coke and Apple.
Not only is Swift the top earner of this year -- she won the race by a landslide. Adele, 28, comes in at No. 2 with a still-impressive $80.5 million, the highest earnings of her career, due to massive album sales and a worldwide tour.
Elsewhere on the list, Las Vegas residencies continue to be a highly lucrative business move. Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Shania Twain and Celine Dion have each earned high-powered places in the top 10 -- ranging from $39.5 to $27 million -- with their Sin City shows. see the full list here
Believe it or not, it's been just 10 years since a then-curly-haired Swift hit the music scene with her debut album. Taylor Swift would offer fans their first taste of the future breakup-anthem-queen's wise-beyond-her-years lyrics, featured on the singles "Tim McGraw," "Teardrops on My Guitar," "Picture to Burn" and "Should've Said No." The then-16-year-old also showed off her sweet side with the infectious "Our Song."
Today, the album has achieved 5x multi-platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Hillary Clinton doubles her advertisement spending from $14m to $32 following Trump's sudden rise in polls

U.S presidential candidate Hillary Clinton has doubled her TV ads spending from $14m to $32.4m with just 5 days to the election, following Donald Trump's surge in polls as a result of the FBI's decision to begin proceedings and investigations into Hillary Clinton's deleted emails stored on a private server while she was Secretary of State.

Hillary, who knows now that momentum is with Trump, has included in the last-minute, an $18 million influx which is nearly $5 million in additional airtime in Florida, a state that Donald Trump must win to reach the White House.

According to data from Kantar Media/CMAG, a company that tracks political advertising, the Republican National Committee has made its first adverts buy in support of Trump, putting up $2.9 million in five states including Florida, Michigan, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico and Iowa.

According to CNN, both campaigns are focusing their spending on Florida, which will see nearly $10 million spent in ads this final week.

Glo unveils Borrow Me Data, reloads Free Tomorrow, 2 other products

Globacom announced this at a press conference in Lagos on Tuesday and said all the four products offer benefits unmatched in the telecom industry. The three products which have been repackaged following their success and appeal in the market are Double Free Tomorrow, 11k/s for All, and IDD Packs.
The new product, Glo Borrow Me Data, allows subscribers to borrow Data credit of up to 2GB whenever their data bundles are exhausted and they have no airtime balance to recharge their data plan or in cases of unsuccessful subscription bundle activation due to low balance.
Globacom’s  Head, Usage and Retention, Mr. Sola Arowogbadamu,  said eligibility criterion for the offer includes how long a customer has been on the network and the average monthly data usage.
Customers can subscribe to Borrow Me Data by dialling *321# and following the menu options. The service will then push real time Data credit to all eligible subscribers in line with the stated eligibility criterion. The customer will repay the Data credit whenever airtime recharge is made.
The next offer, Double Free Tomorrow, gives back to the subscriber 200% of whatever is spent on calls, SMS or data today to use for free the next day. In the re-loaded offer, Globacom calculates all the value of airtime a subscriber used in a day for internet services, phone calls and SMS, and credits the subscriber’s phone with double this value at the start of the next day. The offer will now be available as default for all new customers activating a Glo line.
Effectively, this means that subscribers will now receive back, the following day, double the airtime used in a day for calls, internet browsing and SMS.
Mr. Arowogbadamu said the bonus can be used for practically anything including browsing or calls and SMS to Glo and non-Glo lines. The bonus can also be used for International calls to popular countries such as US, UK (fixed), Canada, China and India.
The offer is open to all existing and new prepaid customers on the Glo network and other subscribers who crave good value for money.
“With Glo Double Free Tomorrow, customers get back double benefits free the next day. In other words, when they spend more today, they get much more tomorrow.  For instance, if a subscriber on the Glo network uses N500 credit in a day on calls, SMS and data, Glo will give back N1,000 credit to the subscriber the very next day to call all networks, SMS and browse free,” he stated. To enjoy the service, subscribers are to dial *600#.
He also said that the third offer, 11k/s for All, is the best prepaid plan in the Nigerian telecoms market. It described it as a simple flat tariff plan which allows customers enjoy heavily reduced call rate on local and international calls.
Under the plan, calls are charged at 11k/s to all local networks and for international calls to 30 top destinations. The destinations include United Kingdom, United States, Canada, South Africa, India, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Israel and Australia. Others are Bangladesh, Brunei, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, French Guiana, Guam, Luxembourg, Malta, Mongolia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Puerto Rico, Reunion Island, Romania and Singapore.
The company said that new and existing customers can enjoy the unbelievable call rate which comes at a daily access fee of N5 by dialling *211# to migrate to the plan.
More benefits await customers who port from other networks into its network as they will enjoy a welcome bonus of N500 Glo-to-Glo talk time and N500MB data upon first single denomination recharge of N500 or higher. They will also get 500MB complimentary data for the next six months after joining Glo, provided they use a minimum of N1,500 monthly.
The company also announced the introduction of New IDD Packs which is the best deal in the country and covers calls made from Nigeria to the same 30 major international destinations for as low as N6.60 per minute. The bundles are designed to match the recharge denominations and include IDD 100, IDD 200, IDD 500 and IDD 1,000. The IDD 100 gives the subscriber 12 minutes of call valid for 3 days, while IDD 200 gives 24 call minutes for 7 days.
The IDD 500 bundle gives 60 minutes of call for 14 days, while the fourth bundle, IDD 1000, will avail the user 150 call minutes valid for 30 days.
According to Globacom, the 30 destinations covered by the new IDD packs include United States, United Kingdom, Canada, South Africa, India, China and Japan.

Pass mock exam 'get Weac/Neco paid' - Gov. Shettima tells Borno final year students

Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima, has told Senior Secondary School (SSIII) students in the State to pass mock entrance examination, particularly Mathematics and English language in order for the state government to pay for their West African Examination Council (WAEC) and National Examination Council (NECO).

The governor said this Monday through his State Commissioner for Education, Mr. Musa Kubo, who disclosed this when he paid a visit to students and teachers of Women Teachers College, Government Girls Secondary School and Mafoni Senior Day Secondary School; all in Maiduguri.

Kubo noted that there would be need for the final year students of the above schools to undergo a mock test, so that those who passed the mock exams would have their WAEC/NECO fees paid by the government. He added that the government will not be happy to spend millions of naira on examination fees when a large number of the students would not do well in their results.

This directive is coming two years after public schools in Borno State were closed down due to activities of insurgents, but reopened last month.

The Commissioner however stated that the State government, under Governor Kashim Shettima, would continue to pay the fees of WAEC/NECO for students every year, adding that with the closure of schools in the state in the past two years, some of the students, who had overstayed at home without reading, might not be fit to write the 2016 WAEC/NECO.

At 17 I made my first million, At 19, I built my first house- Actress Funke Adesiyan reveals on IG

Actress/Politician, Funke Adesiyan, revealed how she made her first million when she was 17 years old and also built her first house at the age of 19. Sharing her story on social media, she wrote
"Let me tell you a story. I am a product of God's Grace. I was the Games Prefect at my elementary school, I was the Senior Prefect of the secondary school I attended. I started modelling at 13. I started business at 14.
At 17 I made my first million. At 19, I built my first house. At 24, i already have OND, a diploma and a degree. At 25,I ran a presidential campaign for one of the greatest men Nigeria is blessed with, Mallam Shekarau. At 26, I opened a fashion emporium in my home town which cost me over 20 million naira then. But guess what, at 27, I had lost almost all. This was the period I knew people for what they are. God used this period to prepare me for a better tomorrow. Instead of sulking, I looked inward and found a renewed strength within me. I sold my car, started all over but this time, quietly. I found a new calling. To live my live for people who are truly in need and have nothing to even give you in return but a most sincere prayer to God almighty. To the glory of God today, I am the CEO of four resourseful companies with interest in Importation, Oil and Gas, Integrated services and Farming. Guess what? I'm yet to begin! Whatever your disappointment, see it as an opportunity. Never be scared to begin again. Everyday is always a new day!!! Before you envy my success, learn my pain! #funkeadesiyan #ibadan#silentbusinessmogul"
