United Bank for Africa chairman, Tony Elumelu donated $500,000 to Sierra Leone after a heavy flood which led to landslide took the life of more than 500 people in one day.
Tony Elumelu donated the sum of $500,000 in order to help alleviate the suffering of people affected by flood and mudslide in Sierra Leone.
The UBA chairman and the founder of Tony Elumelu foundation visited Sierra Leone accompanied by the former president of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.
It would be recalled that on August 4, a heavy downpour which caused severe flooding in Freetown and a mudslide left more than 500 people dead, including children.
The incident also left more than 3,000 people homeless and in need of humanitarian assistance.
